    Tim Carter Band

Tim Carter ‘Wishes’ Craig Havighurst: Writer / Producer / CoHost at Music City Roots Nashville Tim Carter represents two vital traditions of the Appalachia region that raised him. One is folk and bluegrass directly from the old America. The other is the equally valuable tradition of spiking those genres with contemporary ideas, hearty grooves, instrumental improvisation and a happy Southern good time. He’s a fantastic singer and banjo player, and he’s a resilient, determined artist as recent years have proven. ‘Wishes’ is Tim Carter’s second solo release. The record is somewhat an extension of what Tim has done in the past with the Carter Brothers Band.. blues, rock, progressive banjo in a deep Appalachian roots environment, very true and pure. (groovingappalacianfolkrockfunkedupbluegrassgypsyblues Eight of the ten songs are original compositions, 4 are instrumentals, written by Tim. The record was produced by Tim with some help from his fellow musicians who played on the record.. ‘we would gather in the studio, talk about the song and its arrangement, then record it... Iʼd be crazy not to take the advice of these guest players, they are all the best in their field and loved having a say soʼ... the record was recorded at Timʼs facility ‘The Treehouse in Ridgetopʼ, a state of the art studio that many records have been recorded.. Joining Tim on the record is longtime bandmate Dann Sherrill on drums and percussion, Dave Roe on upright and electric bass, Ross Sermons on bass, Johnny Neel on B3 organ, Trey Hensley on acoustic and electric guitar, Michael McAdam on electric guitar, Barbara Lamb on fiddle, Rob Ickes on dobro, Smith Curry on pedal steel and dobro, Jack Irwin on B3 organ, Philip Aaberg on piano, Danny Carter on acoustic guitar, Matt Flinner on mandolin...(no digital keyboards) Tim played banjo, mandolin and acoustic guitar.. The touring band will be Tim, Dann Sherrill on drums, Drake Leonard on bass and Michael McAdam on electric guitar. Since Tim’s other band ‘Carter Brothers’ has been sidelined for the last two years, Tim has been playing banjo with the eclectic ‘Hayseed Dixie’, touring and recording two records with the band, which is not a full time operation for any of the bandmates. Tim also continues his duties behind the recording console working with other well known artists in his state of the art facility ‘The Treehouse - Ridgetop’ recording studio.
